Master improv teacher and Highwire Comedy Co. founder, Ian Covell, can teach you how to use improv to help you become a more spontaneous and confident actor while having the most fun you'll ever have. Ian has over 20 years of experience performing improv and sketch comedy across the U.S. and Canada. He has extensively trained in the Meisner Technique and regularly works in film, commercial, and voice-over acting. His unique blend of improv and acting skills is a rare commodity. Coming up, he can be seen as Darren Spazzio in the film Christine -- which premieres at the Sundance Film Festival 2016.

Improv for Actors 1

Become more spontaneous in written moments. Be ready when the director says, "Okay, let's improvise."

We have both a morning class and evening class available.

This program teaches trained actors the fundamentals of Long Form improvisation. Skills acquired in this class can be applied to both scripted and non-scripted work. Improv for Actors 1 covers the beginning elements of how to perform an improvised scene that appears as if it has been scripted and rehearsed.

You must have one of the following: professional acting training or the equivalent amount of experience, a theater degree, or be enrolled in a college theater program.

Improv for Actors 2

Acquire the skills needed to perform an improvised scene that appears as if it has been scripted and rehearsed.

 Session A Class Times:  NOT OFFERED FOR SESSION A                                                                        Cost: $225//8 WEEKS

 

Continue to build improvisational skills while creating characters and discovering how those characters and their points of view affect a scene. Completion of Improv for Actors 2 fulfills the prerequisites for the Highwire team and show auditions.

This class ends with a student performance.
